Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey, USA. The silver medalist of the Olympic Games-2020 (Tokyo, Japan), the American lightweight (up to 61.2 kg) Kishon Davis (6-0, 5 KOs), who is trained by Terence Crawford’s mentor Brian McIntyre, clearly dealt with the seasoned Mexican
Omar Tienda (25-6, 18 KOs).
In the opening round, the underdog tried to put pressure on the prospect, he worked well at close range. By the middle of the three-minute period, Davis set a convenient distance, scored a couple of multi-hit combinations, dropped his opponent in the last second (the referee did not count the knockdown).
In the 2nd round, Davis already completely controlled the course of the fight: he failed the opponent on his feet, countered, intercepted, and punched great in the liver. Tienda’s attempts to impose a power confrontation were extinguished by the favorite in the clinch. Performance level seasoned pro. Perhaps the jab was missing a bit.
Tienda did nothing. He was nervous and threw Davis with a wrestling move in the 4th three-minute period – the referee limited himself to a warning. In the next round, Kishon dropped his opponent with a right cross. He rose to his feet, but did not respond with blows to blows – the referee stopped the fight.
