Davis reacted to Garcia’s promoter’s ultimatum: “It’s all weird…”

Boss Showtime Sports Stephen Espinosa responded to Oscar De La Hoya’s ultimatum from Golden Boy Promotions. He is extremely dissatisfied with the lack of a contract for a superfight between American punchers Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) and Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KOs), which is tentatively scheduled for April 15 and will be shown on Showtime PPV.

Espinosa
confirmedthat there is no contract. According to him, this is a completely normal situation: “We most often sign documents a week before the fight. I am not saying that contracts are never signed much earlier. But there is nothing suspicious about signing the papers just before the start of the event. For example, the contract for the fight between Davis and Hector Luis Garcia was signed less than 24 hours before the start of the fight.”

About this feature showtime and PBC Al Haymon has been talked about before. Apparently, this is not just a rumor. Espinosa believes that “signing contracts is just a formality. And the terms of the battle are negotiated ahead of time. Therefore, if you ask me if there is a signed contract for the fight between Davis and Garcia, then I will answer you – no. But if the question is whether we agreed on all the details of the deal, then my answer to you is yes, we agreed. Did everyone read the conditions and gave their go-ahead? Everything!”

Espinosa replied to the boss GBP: “To be honest, this whole situation makes me a little puzzled and stressed. What’s the point of this? First, he says to Ryan: “You can safely report that we agreed on everything.” But only two days pass, and he’s like, “I don’t have any contract, we didn’t agree on anything.” And now I don’t know what to expect from them. Was this an attempt to disrupt the fight? Are you dissatisfied with the terms of the deal? But after all, just a few days ago everyone was happy, and the fighters had already announced the fight. What exactly has changed? What happened? These are the questions that haunt me.”

Yesterday, Ryan Garcia said that he allegedly fears that the fight with Davis will fail due to his problems with the law. Previously, he promised to get rid of the opponent already at the start of the fight. Gervonta responded to Garcia’s “two rounds” prediction. And the analysis of this mega-fight from Teddy Atlas also arrived in time.
