Davis, Lopez or Hughes? Oscar’s right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing.

The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing. This is how you can characterize what is happening around the eternal contender of the American lightweight Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya (Golden Boy Promotions).

First, Garcia announced his desire to fight in December with WBA World champion compatriot Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs). De La Hoya pulled out of the negotiations almost immediately, accusing the potential opponent of not wanting to fight. Boss golden boy allegedly switched to the candidacy of the former undisputed lightweight champion American Teofimo Lopez (16-1, 12 KOs), who has a fight with the Mexican Pedro Campa this weekend.

De La Hoya even claims that he will attend the Lopez vs Campa fight, after which he will seek a meeting with the ex-champion.

Teofimo comments: “There will be not only an Oscar, but also many other stars that I invited to the show. I’ll be happy to chat with him on Saturday. You know me. I don’t give up fights. But can the same be said about Garcia? He’s just hype. He thinks that if he beat Javier Fortuna, he became Superman. Dude, you’re on your own kryptonite. I don’t see him wanting to go to the next level. To do this, you need to take the right fights – against me or against Vasily Lomachenko. He’s just PR and wants me to promote him a little. Ryan, you know what, dude? Go fuck yourself!”

Earlier, the holder of an insignificant IBO belt, Briton Maxi Hughes (25-5-2, 5 KOs), said that Garcia personally invited him to fight.
Ryan explained via social media: “I want everyone to understand the situation with Hughes. I wanted to stay active, so I asked him if he was ready to fight before I went up against Gervonta. But later my team said it was not possible. It is important for me to stay active. I don’t want such long pauses in my career anymore.”

Mike Coppinger writesthat “Garcia is only focused on Davis. And he instructed his team to do this fight next. He is optimistic. He believes that the fight will take place in December.”

Garcia confirmed Coppinger’s “inside” via social media. He did not comment on De La Hoya’s actions.

In the meantime, the legendary Hopkins spoke very powerfully about the talks on the Davis-Garcia duel.
