Davis: “Don’t make a monster out of me – I don’t beat my child and his mother”

11 days before the fight with Dominican Hector Luis Garcia, WBA World Lightweight Champion American Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) was arrested in Broward County (Florida, USA) on charges of domestic violence.

Details of the incident later emerged. After that, the fighter himself posted his version of what happened on social networks. It seems that the mother of his child suffered at the hands of Davis.

Gervonta completely denies his guilt: “I never fucking beat the mother of my child or my daughter. I am not a monster. Are you all the f**k? Don’t let these people fool you. I’ve been silent for too long. I don’t have a cool PR team behind me, a speaker or a lawyer. It is for this reason that I am writing all this now. I just want to clear my reputation.”

As before, a little later, Davis deleted this message. And he also posted a photo with his daughter – on it they watch cartoons together. The boxer commented on the picture: “This is what happened just before we had a fight with my daughter’s mother. And now there’s a fucking police helicopter flying over my house all the time. I am writing all this just so you understand. These people only care about my fucking money. And they want to fuck me as much as possible. They only do it for two reasons: for the money and for wanting to destroy me. But I’m not a monster!”

Davis claims that the quarrel occurred after he refused to give his daughter’s mother his car: “All these bloggers even published her call to the police. Are they interested in the truth? Yes, you all do not care if I did something bad or not. You all think only about your own profit and your business. You don’t care that I have two beautiful daughters. And when they grow up, they’ll see all this shit. You just posted all this shit without even trying to figure out what happened.”

Fight Davis vs Garcia is scheduled for January 7 in Washington (USA). The RVS has so far stated that they are studying the situation – it is possible that the event will have to be canceled. Not in favor of the boxer is the fact that in February he has another court hearing – in November 2020 he caused an accident and fled the scene. He is still facing jail time for that incident.
