Former world middleweight champion (up to 76.2 kg) American David Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) answered questions from local media.

You sparred with Bivol, who defeated Canelo. If Canelo gets a rematch with Bivol after Golovkin, what will happen?
“I don’t think anything will change. The only reason the result of the fight can change is if Bivol goes down to 76.2kg because Bivol is not a 76.2kg fighter. I think it will be the same. Bivol will beat him again.
Do you think Canelo should go for a rematch?
– I do not know. I think yes. Canelo said he wouldn’t leave it like that, so I’m sure he’s a proud person and will go for a rematch.

I know that Beterbiev is the best fighter in the division because he has three titles, but a number of people say that Bivol has a style that will allow him to win. Do you agree with this? In a hypothetical duel between them, would you give Bivol the edge?
– I think yes. Because he’s more of a techie and he also has power. He is a boxer, he moves a lot. I like Beterbiev, but I don’t know if you saw him fight Oleksandr Gvozdyk when Beterbiev won the WBC title. Beterbiev conceded, but Bivol was stronger. So it will be a great fight. I definitely want to see him.
Do you give Golovkin a chance to beat Canelo in the third fight?
– Yes. I think GGG is a really strong fighter. The only reason I didn’t like his last fight was because he looked exhausted. But he probably flew to Japan a week before the fight. This will “piss off” you, since this is a different time zone. I think that’s why he looked like that. He must look amazing in this fight. There will be a good fight. I liked the first two fights and I will definitely watch the third one.
Which fighter are you leaning towards winning in a possible fight between Spence and Crawford?
– It’s hard to pick a winner. Honestly, it seems to me that their skills plus or minus are the same. It seems to me that the point here will be who has a stronger character, who wants to win more. Can’t decide the winner. Good fight. Probably one of the best of the decade.
