Darren Till will take the fight to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Former UFC welterweight championship belt challenger Darren Till will make his professional boxing debut in two months and his opponent will be former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

The six-round bout in the 190-pound (86.2 kg) weight class will take place on July 20 in Arlington and will be part of an evening of boxing headlined by a fight between the legendary Mike Tyson and blogger Jake Paul, event organizers officially announced.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 38, has not stepped into the ring since 2021, in which he fought two bouts, losing by split decision to former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva and then winning a unanimous decision over Peruvian David Zegarra.

Darren Till, 31, was released from his UFC contract last March, leaving the organization on a three-fight losing streak against Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson and Dricus Du Plessis, the latter two losing early by submissions.
