“I love Hamzat, God bless him,” the Brit stated in an interview with The Schmo. “Usman has balls, but I just think Hamzat will run him over – that’s the way it’s going to be. I’m not only his friend but I’m a big fan of Hamzat. He’s going to blow Usman away. I respect Kamara, he’s one of the greatest fighters of all time, but I know Hamzat will tear him up. Unfortunately for Usman, that’s the way it is.”
Last week, Kamaru Usman agreed on short notice to replace Paulo Costa, who pulled out due to illness, and face Hamzat Chimaev at middleweight. The bout will take place on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, with the winner earning the right to fight current division champion Sean Strickland, who sensationally took the title from Israel Adesanya last month.
This time around, “Borz” will enter the octagon as more than a three-time favorite to face the Nigerian.
