Daniel Cormier names ideal main event fight for UFC 300 tournament

Despite a strong lineup, UFC 300 lacks a main event that would be the cherry on the cake, according to former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier.

“The UFC 300 tournament lacks a big fight,” said the American in another edition of his analysis program on ESPN. “And that big fight has to have a backstory, with conflict and everything. It’s got to get attention. It can’t be Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad, because there’s not enough of all that in their standup. It’s a fantastic fight, but it doesn’t fit the main event.”

According to Cormier, the ideal main event for the anniversary number one event would be the final match of the trilogy between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.

“Regardless of who Conoro fights, it will draw attention, but if he fights Diaz, it will be something special that will create the maximum excitement possible at the moment. Their first two fights are still among the highest grossing fights in UFC history. These guys are going to make a lot of money again, and it will be totally deserved”

As a reminder, the UFC 300 tournament will take place on April 13 in Las Vegas, and the head of the world’s strongest league, Dana White, claims he has several options for the main event, each of which will get fans excited.
