“This company has been rocking for the past seven years and now that we’ve added WWE to our portfolio, I’m looking forward to taking it to the next level,” the UFC chief said in a statement. “Vince McMahon is a true monster in the world of wrestling, Ari Emanuel is a beast in his field, and combined with what the UFC has to offer, there are no limits to what this company can achieve in the next few years.”
UFC-owned investment group Endeavor previously announced the acquisition of the WWE league, which will become part of a new $21.4 billion sports and entertainment company as a result of its merger with the largest mma promotion.
The combined company will appear as NewCo until the new brand is officially introduced, and its identification ticker on the exchange is TKO.
The new business will be led by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, WWE CEO Vince McMahon will fill the same role in the newly formed company, and Dana White will remain UFC president.
