Dan Hooker named the condition of the fight with Bobby Green

No. 9 ranked UFC lightweight Dan Hooker is ready to share the octagon with Bobby Green, who challenged him after knocking out top-10 ranked Grant Dawson in 33 seconds last weekend at UFC Fight Night 229 in Las Vegas.

According to the New Zealander, his manager has already asked the UFC to arrange for him to fight Mateusz Gamrot, who is insuring the title fight between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira, but if the Pole refuses, Hooker will accept the American’s challenge.

“I’ve asked the UFC for a fight with Gamrot,” the New Zealander told Submission Radio. “If Gamrot doesn’t want to fight me in December or January, we’ll do it with Bobby Green. My manager has already contacted the UFC and told them I’m ready for the fight. If Gamroth is going to sit around and wait, I’m not going to sit idle. I’m ready to take action.”

“Dawson was a serious threat but Bobby came out and took him out – it was really impressive. Having beaten number ten, Bobby will probably take his place. I called my manager after the fight and told him I was ready to fight Green if Gamrott refused”

According to the updated UFC rankings, Bobby Green is ranked thirteenth in the lightweight division, while Grant Dawson has dropped five spots to round out the organization’s top 15 lightweights.

Dan Hooker is currently riding a two-fight win streak, winning by technical knockout over Claudio Puelles and a split decision over Jalin Turner.
