Corey Sandhagen: Ian Surprised by Defence, But I Didn’t Have Enough Time to Learn Him

Former UFC interim bantamweight contender Corey Sandhagen says he didn’t have enough time to prepare for his fight against Petr Yan.

“What surprised me Yang? He surprised me with his work in defense, he overlaps very well. I thought I would hit more often than I did in combat. But he’s a great defender and that was hard to work with. That’s why I always say that I need enough time to study my opponent. In the five weeks I’ve had, it’s hard to study someone deeply,” Sandhagen said on The MMA Hour.

On October 30, Sandhagen lost to Yan via unanimous decision at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi.
