Conor McGregor’s rival announced officially

Former dual UFC champion Conor McGregor will be one of The Ultimate Fighter’s next season’s coaches, while the Irishman will compete with ex-Bellator champion and former UFC lightweight title challenger Michael Chandler.

This was officially announced by UFC President Dana White.

“TUF’s 31st season coaches will be Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor,” the head of the organization said in a video posted to the league’s social media. “The season kicks off May 30 on ESPN with the final episode airing August 15. At the end of the season, McGregor vs. Chandler will headline a numbered event that we’ll be announcing shortly.”

34-year-old Conor McGregor last entered the octagon in July 2021, having suffered a severe leg fracture in a duel against Dustin Poirier, and six months before that, he lost to Diamond by knockout in the second round.

Michael Chandler, 36, last fought last November, losing by rear naked choke in the third round to Dustin Poirier. Six months earlier, the American closed a two-loss streak by knocking out Tony Ferguson in the second round.

At the moment, Michael Chandler is ranked fifth in the UFC lightweight rankings, and Conor McGregor left the top 15 best fighters in the division at the end of last year.
