Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC is in doubt

UFC CEO, Dana White, who has already postponed Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon several times, does not know if the former UFC champion in two weight classes will fight in the organization.

“I don’t know if Conor will fight again,” MMAnews quoted the head of the world’s strongest league as saying. “Conor has a lot of money. We’d be thrilled if Conor came back and fought, but money complicates things. He just did a movie, he needs to promote it, and he has obligations associated with it. He really wants to fight this year, but we’ll see how things work out.”

Last weekend Conor McGregor received a challenge from new UFC featherweight champion Elijah Topuria, who knocked out Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 in Anaheim, and asked the Irishman if he had the “balls” to step into the octagon with him.

“I have huge balls,” McGregor replied on social media. “I have four kids.”

Conor McGregor will obviously never fight at welterweight again, but his fight with Michael Chandler, which the American lightweight has been waiting for over a year, is apparently in big doubt as well. Unless the organization has a big surprise in store and brings the Irishman back to the octagon at UFC 300 in Las Vegas, the likelihood of McGregor fighting before the end of the year can be considered to be slim to none.
