Conor McGregor waives half-year doping test

Former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor has explained why he has yet to return to the USADA testing pool despite facing Michael Chandler before the end of the year.

According to the Irishman, he only needs to pass two doping tests to share the octagon with the American.

“I’m in no rush,” McGregor said on The MMA Hour. “We are in constant communication, we have scheduled interviews, official meetings, and after that the fight will be officially announced. No six-month period that everyone is talking about – two clean tests, and go! I guess you won’t have to wait too long”

This statement is contrary to the official statement of the American Anti-Doping Agency, which clearly states that Conor McGregor will not be exempt from the mandatory six-month doping testing period.

Representatives of the UFC have not yet given any comments on this matter.
