Conor McGregor talks about possible fistfighting debut

Former UFC bi-weight champion Conor McGregor, who fought Mike Perry at BKFC 41 over the weekend, estimated the likelihood that he would one day try his hand at bare-knuckle fighting.

“Styles make fights and so do rule sets,” the Irishman wrote on the social media site. “If you are afraid, go to church. Last night I was called into the ring for a fistfight. I’m not afraid of anyone, and certainly not a person who breathes air. I only fear the Lord, and I trust in him – if in due time the Lord sends me into battle on my bare fists for my new title, I will do so.

“Yesterday was a great evening. It was really interesting and I congratulate the fighters. Two of my former opponents felled, and the guy that Cowboy submitted in a round beat the former middleweight champion. Incredible. Think about it for a second. No one knows what another fight day has in store for us, and that’s why I love fighting so much. This fight took place in the middleweight division. I have never fought in this weight class, but I can easily fit into it, and I will be there as big as a freezer. Everything is in the hands of the Lord, and I believe in him.

Recall that as part of the event, Mike Perry won a third victory in fisticuffs, winning by technical knockout in the second round against former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, who refused to continue the fight due to broken teeth.

Conor McGregor is currently filming the next season of TUF and plans to have a coaching match with American Michael Chandler by the end of the year.
