Conor McGregor suspended for 6 months after Poirier defeat

Irishman seriously injured right leg

Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor will be out for at least six months.

On January 24 at UFC 257, the Irishman lost by knockout to Dustin Poirier. Before the knockout in the second round, the American seriously beat off McGregor’s right leg. Note that after the fight, Conor was able to move only with the help of crutches.

According to MMA Junkie, the UFC Athletic Commission suspended McGregor from performances for 180 days. The Irishman was diagnosed with an injury to the right leg and fibula.

Dustin Poirier only received a seven-day suspension.
