Conor McGregor has revealed his plan for the current year

Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor, who returns to the octagon in a month’s time after a three-year hiatus, intends to make up for lost time and have three fights before the end of the current year.

“June 29, Mexican Independence Day on Sept. 14 and then in December,” MMAFighting quoted the Irishman as saying. “Three fights this year. Please Lord, please let me have three fights before the end of the year. I have two fights left on my existing contract with the UFC and we’re in the negotiation stage right now. We’ll see how things work out.”

“I’m excited to have one fight before my next birthday and then I’ll be back in September. It will be at the Sphere on Mexican Independence Day, and we’re looking for an opponent for that right now. I’ve said before that I like the idea of completing the trilogy with Diaz, but he has a boxing match with Masvidal, so who knows. I’m looking for an opponent.”

Earlier, the current UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, announced his willingness to fight Conor McGregor in September.

Recall that Islam Makhachev will make a title defense against Dustin Puryear on June 1 at UFC 302 in Newark, and Conor McGregor will headline UFC 303 on June 29 to face Michael Chandler in the main event.
