Colby Covington vows to break Israel Adesanya

Islam Makhachev is not the only UFC champion Colby Covington is ready to challenge after he takes the welterweight title from Leon Edwards.

According to the American, he will share the octagon with Israel Adesanya, who holds the UFC middleweight title, with no less pleasure.

“This is a huge and very significant fight,” Chaos said in an interview with MMA Fighting. “I don’t think he can handle me. I will translate him and beat him from the first second to the last until he breaks. He will not be able to resist the cardio king. I’d love to have this fight, champion vs champion, US vs New Zealand, or where it comes from, I don’t know – let’s do it!”

“I don’t think he would want to fight a fighter of such a high level – someone who will not fall behind and will constantly press in front of him. I won’t just throw one takedown – I’ll throw five thousand of them, I’ll be right in front of him, and I’ll break him. If that’s what the UFC wants, I’m in. I am a company man, a businessman, so I care about its prosperity. I want to do big business for the greatest organization in the world.”

A welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington has yet to be officially announced, and Israel Adesanya’s next opponent is set to be decided in a contender’s bout between Robert Whittaker and Dricus du Plessis scheduled for July.
