UFC No. 1 welterweight Colby Covington threatened his former friend and gym partner Jorge Masvidal with brutal reprisal.
“All I want is to be locked in a cage with this clown,” Covington told Submission Radio. “This fight cannot take place because of him, and he will pay for it. He will pay with loss of consciousness, loss of health. I’ll take at least five years of his life from him. I promise you. You will see in me a beast that you have never seen before. In no other confrontation in my career have I had so much hatred and so much personal as in this one. I want to crush his soul, I want to rip out his heart and roast it on the grill. I will arrange a barbecue from his heart and call the military, rescuers – those people who keep our country safe. ”
On November 7, Covington lost to Usman by unanimous decision at UFC 268. Masvidal was knocked out by Usman at UFC 261 in April.
