Colby Covington gave a prediction for the fight with Islam Makhachev

UFC welterweight title contender Colby Covington has given his prediction for a potential fight with reigning UFC lightweight title holder Islam Makhachev, who has vowed to take on a title shot in the 77kg division without hesitation.

According to the American, for the Russian everything will end as sadly as in the fight against Adriano Martins, whom Makhachev lost by technical knockout in 2015.

“It’s going to end the same way it ended the time he got knocked out in the UFC,” Chaos told LowKick MMA. “I prepared this guy, Adriano, for this fight, I told him, ‘Check the right hook, do it all the time – he’s not ready for this’. In the end, Adriano came out, did what I told him, and knocked him out.”

“Makhachev is left-handed, like me, and he doesn’t fight very well with left-handers, and look how much trouble this Australian dwarf Volkanovski caused him. It was just a featherweight bro and now you want to move up to welterweight?”

“He knows what will happen to him at welterweight, just like his daddy Khabib knew. That’s why Khabib never made it to the welterweight division because King Colby was there.”

According to the UFC plan, Islam Makhachev will fight his next fight on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi against the winner of the contender fight between Charles Oliveira and Benil Dariush.

Colby Covington may return to the octagon on the same day as reigning UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards has revealed he would like to defend his title at the same numbered event.
