Colby Covington confirms fight date with Leon Edwards

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington has confirmed that his fight against reigning division champion Leon Edwards is scheduled for July this year.

“You don’t want to give me a title shot, mumble? I remember the British didn’t want to give the Americans freedom, so we just took it. See you in July, little one, ”the American wrote on the social network, referring to the Briton, who does not stop saying that he does not want to fight Chaos.

Leon Edwards successfully defended the UFC Welterweight Championship in March, defeating Kamaru Usman in an immediate rematch by knockout in the first bout.

Colby Covington, who secured the title shot, last stepped into the octagon in March last year, defeating his former best friend Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision in five rounds.

The welterweight title fight on July 22 will reportedly headline UFC 291 in London.
