American specialist Sugar Hill does not rule out that the unified heavyweight champion (WBA Super, IBF, WBO) Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) could see something in the actions of the WBC champion Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) such that (in his opinion) will help defeat the big man in a head-to-head fight.
The champions plan to meet in early 2023 to determine the first absolute heavyweight in the era of the four belts. In December, Fury beat compatriot Derek Chisora for the third time, after which the Usyk team said they saw a lot of vulnerabilities in the boxing of the WBC champion.
Coach Fury Hill
rules outthat it was so: “What if Tyson was tired? What if he got old? What if he’s already broken? What if all this really didn’t escape Usyk’s keen eye? What if Alexander or someone from his team really saw some vulnerabilities in Tyson’s boxing? Perhaps this is what they are going to bet on in a face-to-face fight. Maybe that’s why they’re going to win.”
Hill has been coaching Fury since 2019, taking over from Ben Davison after Tyson slurred past Swede Otto Wallin, narrowly missing out by TKO due to a huge cut.
The Olympic medalist from Britain believes that Fury will defeat Usyk in an ugly duel. But it is possible that this fight will not take place at all. Johnny Nelson has an opinion on this.
