Check out the knockout! 43-year-old Italian again became the champion of Europe – video

Seven Sporting Club, Savignano sul Rubicone, Italy. In the main event of the evening, the Frenchman Anderson Presto (25-3, 13 KOs) and the local super-veteran (43 years old!) Matteo Signani (32-6-3, 12 KOs) met in a rematch.

They fought for the EBU European Middleweight Championship (up to 72.6 kg), because in the summer the fight ended with a technical decision in favor of the Frenchman, who took the title from the veteran. The Italian side demanded an immediate revenge – they did not like the refereeing and the lack of doping control.

The rematch was not easy for Signani. And in the 3rd round, he even ended up on the floor after a hard jab from the champion. The referee either did not understand the episode, or decided to insure the local fighter – the knockdown was not recorded.

And Presto hit a local fighter. And after that, the veteran finally wound up. He almost immediately seized the initiative, began to control the distance, set the pace, imposed a power confrontation.

In the 6th round, the champion could hardly stay on his feet, and in the next three minutes, he blundered a left hook and ended up on the canvas. Presto found the strength to get to his feet, but did not convince the referee of his readiness to continue the fight.
