At the weekend in Minneapolis (USA), WBA World super middleweight champion Cuban David Morrel (8-0, 7 KOs) inflicted his debut defeat on Kazakh Aidos Yerbosynuly (16-1, 11 KOs).
The one-sided battle, unfortunately, ended alarmingly – the loser ended up in the hospital, where he was forced into an artificial coma due to a brain hemorrhage. Insiders reported that the fighter’s condition was “critical”, and his promoter at first claimed the opposite (“nothing threatens his life”), but then deleted this message.
But there is also a positive side to this story. The winner first helped the loser to his feet and carefully seated him on a stool. And later he went to the hospital altogether and met there with Yerbosynuly’s team.
Morrel wrote in
social networks: “It was a great day for me, but at the same time it is an unusually difficult period for others. Let’s pray together for Aidos’ speedy recovery. May God protect you. Aidos, I continue to pray for you and your speedy recovery.”
Just in case you missed the video of this creepy knockout.
Morrel’s coach was the first to say that Yerbosynuly’s career was in jeopardy. And then he admitted that they want to fight Canelo, not run after Benavidez or Plant.
