On February 11, as part of a boxing evening in San Antonio (USA), the main event of which will be a duel for the vacant WBC super featherweight title between Ray Vargas and O’Shaky Foster, a prospective clash in the heavyweight division between Ukrainian Viktor Vykhryst will take place ( 11-0, 7 KOs) and Cuban Lennier Pero (8-0, 5 KOs).
For Vyhrist this will be the third performance in the US. In 2022, he had three fights, stopping Iago Kiladze (TKO 2) and defeating Franklin Lawrence on points with Kevin Johnson.
“For me, this is a great opportunity to showcase my talents in the US,” says the European champion and winner of the European Games among amateurs from Ukraine. “And I’m especially happy to be back in a fight with such a wonderful opponent as Pero. He was a good amateur and I know that we are both very confident before our fight. I will win and show everyone that I am ready to do everything possible to achieve my dream and become world champion.”
Pero, 30, is a multiple Cuban champion, winner of the Pan American Games and the 2010 Youth Olympics. He took part in the 2016 adult Olympics, but did not go beyond the quarterfinals, losing by TKO 2 to Filip Hrgovic.
Last year, Lenier also had three fights, all in the United States.
