Charlo set the date for the fight with Tim Tszyu

The absolute champion of the first middleweight (up to 69.9 kg) Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) has set the date for the mandatory defense through the WBO. The contender for this version is the Australian Tim Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs).

The 32-year-old American posted the date on Instagram, but then quickly deleted it, but users managed to notice that it was January 28, 2023. Also, the original post has been preserved in the stories of the Charlo brothers’ promotional company page.

“Release the lion and let me cut myself. URGENT NEWS. NEXT FIGHT DATE,” e-Charlo said in an edited post.

Tszyu told how he was going to fight Charlo

And there are pictograms-flags of the USA and Australia, as if hinting who will be the rival.

It is unlikely that Tszyu is pleased that he will have to wait another six months for a title chance. It is noteworthy that he is already talking about the opening defense and even mentioned the opponent’s name.
