Charlo has a date, Ennis is the opening act. And who are the rivals?

The WBC middleweight champion American Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) has not fought since June 2021 – the middle peasant of the Mexican division Juan Macias Montiel passed without shine.

On the sidelines, they claim that the champion will interrupt his protracted pause on June 17 in his native Houston (USA). The name of the opponent is not reported, but it is logical to assume that he will be the interim champion according to the same version, Dominican Carlos Adames (22-1, 17 KOs), who won his semi-title by knocking out the same Montiel in the 3rd round.

It is also known that the holder of the IBF interim welterweight belt American Jaron Ennis (30-0, 27 KOs) will perform in the co-main event. Given the strictness and consistency of the organization, whose semi-title he owns, the knockout will have a difficult fight with the Colombian (Venezuelan?) slugger Royman Villa (26-1, 24 KOs).

The last time Ennis and Villa were seen in the ring within the same card: Jaron got drunk with the Ukrainian Karen Chukhadzhyan, and Royman upset the American Rashidi Ellis in the IBF eliminator.

Last month it became known that Charlo was ill. And this is serious – said his sidekick Prograis. Rumor has it that the champion has an addiction. The American coach said that Charlo could not do without a red nose, and light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol joked: “I didn’t sniff Jermall’s fumes.”
