The undisputed super middleweight champion Mexican Saul Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) plans to move to light heavyweight next year.
The fighter wants to get even with the owner of the WBA Super belt, Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) playing for Kyrgyzstan for an unexpected defeat in May. But he does not exclude that the fight will not take place.
Canelo believes that his compatriot mandatory contender for this title Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) has a solid chance of upsetting Bivol – the fight will take place on November 5 in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
“I think Zurdo has every chance,”
argues Alvarez. Of course I would like him to win. My rematch with Bivol? If Bivol loses, there will be no rematch. Does this mean that in this case I will fight Ramirez? I don’t want to fight a compatriot, but I am a Mexican to the core. If Bivol beats Ramirez, then I will face him in a rematch. I think Zurdo has solid chances: he knows how to fight, he is tall, he is very difficult.”
Appetite comes with eating. The applicant is serious: “First Bivol, then Beterbiev.” And ex-champion from Britain Callum Smith is waiting for his title chance: “I can beat Beterbiev!”
