Canelo can beat Bivol in a rematch – the opinion of a tough expert

Ex-two-time world champion and current top boxing columnist Sean Porter believes that Mexican superstar Saul Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) is quite capable of getting even with Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) for the May defeat .

Previously, Porter had already discussed how Alvarez could beat Bivol and Beterbiev. The expert believes that the Mexican should not constantly jump in the weight divisions. It is better to first hold an intermediate fight and get used to the new weight.

Canelo is the current undisputed super middleweight champion, while Beterbiev and Bivol hold all the light heavyweight belts.

Porter surethat “Canelo can win the rematch. In the first fight, he was like a broken record – doing the same thing over and over again. None plan B, plan C. Only an attempt to impose a power confrontation and tactics in the style of “search and destroy”, which for a long time bore fruit. Why do I believe that things can go differently in a rematch? Because the defeat gave him experience and understanding of how to actually act. And I know that he is quite smart and will be able to draw the right conclusions.

But first, Canelo has a third fight with Gennady Golovkin in September. By the way, he is sure that Alvarez will be more serious than with Bivol. And another 40-year-old veteran said that “Alvarez lives in illusions.”

Have you seen the master class from Porter? The ex-champion surprised with a 100% hit with a prediction.
