Star Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) claims that the loss to Dmitry Bivol in May of this year did not have any negative impact on him.
According to Alvarez, he accepted the failure and continues to look to the future with optimism.
“I immediately accepted defeat. I tell it like it is,” Canelo assured. “I took a risk and moved up to light heavyweight for greatness. When you do this, you allow yourself to fail. After all, it’s not the end of the world. You must keep trying. And I will keep trying.”
“I will become one of the greatest fighters in the history of boxing,” Alvarez has no doubts. “In my position, I don’t need it. I don’t need to take risks. But I love boxing. I love making history. So I accepted defeat. When you win, you celebrate. And when you lose, you have to accept it.”
Recall that already on September 17, Alvarez will defend his WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO super middleweight titles (up to 76.2 kg) in the third fight against Kazakh Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs). In this regard, the Mexican also announced the goal for the third fight with Golovkin.
