Canelo Alvarez praises Golovkin’s last fight

Personal animosity aside, Mexican undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) respects the boxing ability and strength of his Kazakh counterpart, WBA/IBF middleweight title holder Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KO).

So, Alvarez liked the way Golovkin looked in his previous fight against the Japanese Ryota Murata in April of this year, when he won an early victory in the 9th round.

“He looked good in the last fight,” said Canelo. – I only watched the highlights of the fight, because at that time I was in Greece (on vacation). I don’t want to take anything away from him – he is a strong and talented boxer who always looks good (in the ring). He’s definitely one of the best in boxing.”

Recall, on September 17, Alvarez and Golovkin should have a third fight. At the moment, Canelo has one victory on his account, and another fight ended in a draw.

Earlier, Golovkin shamed Canelo for his reaction after the fight with Bivol.
