Former world middleweight champion American Daniel Jacobs commented on the defeat of the best boxer at that time, regardless of the weight category, Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) from Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs).
Recall that on May 8 in Las Vegas, Bivol defended the WBA light heavyweight title, outboxing Alvarez by unanimous decision.
Jacobs agrees with the final verdict, despite the abundance of “controversial rounds”.
“It was a good fight. I was there and commented on this fight, says Daniel. “I think the judges got it right considering how many rounds there could have been contentious. But I would say that the winner was determined correctly.
Regarding a possible rematch, which was written into the contract in the event of Alvarez’s defeat, Jacobs willingly believes that the result of the rematch could be exactly the same:
“Yes, I’m sure that if he did it once, he can do it again.”
As you know, the next fight Alvarez will hold on September 17 against Gennady Golovkin. With whom Bivol will fight in the meantime has not yet been decided.
Bivol will beat Canelo 15 times out of 15. Andre Rozier on Golovkin, Davis, Garcia and more
