38-year-old former world heavyweight champion Mairis Brieidis (28-2, 20 KOs) says he wants to fight heavyweight veteran Derek Chisora (33-13, 23 KOs) in his home division next. He introduced this idea through
iFL TV.
The citizen of Latvia says that he has already talked to 39-year-old Chisora - and he allegedly does not mind.
“I always come when I’m hungry. It’s like a big buffet,” Briedis said when asked what he forgot in London. – There are a lot of boxers, a lot of heavyweights and heavyweights. I asked Chisora how about the fight. He said, “Yes, yes, yes.” We shook hands. Now let’s see who is the balabol.”
Last July, Mayris lost the IBF belt to Australian Jay Opetae (22-0, 17 KOs), and then flew in the parliamentary elections along with the pro-Russian Harmony party. He seems to be ideological.
Last August it was rumored that Briedis’ comeback would take place in Australia, but nothing came of it.
