Brendan Allen looking for rematch with Sean Strickland

Left without an opponent due to an injury to Jack Hermansson, the thirteenth UFC middleweight, Brendan Allen, is looking to split the octagon with Sean Strickland, who is scheduled to fight Abusupian Magomedov.

According to the American, it makes no sense for his compatriot to fight an opponent who is not in the top 15 of the division. In addition, in November 2020, Allen lost to Strickland by technical knockout in the second round, so the middleweight confrontation will become a rematch, which adds additional intrigue to the fight.

“So what do you say, Shawn? Everything is going great for a perfect rematch – this is definitely the best main event for the fans. If you prefer, we can do it on July 1st – fans will definitely want to see us fight and not you fight the guy with the 1-0 record in the UFC, ”Allen wrote on the social network.

Recall that Brendan Allen and Jack Hermansson were supposed to head the UFC on ESPN 45 tournament in Las Vegas on June 3, and the fight between Sean Strickland and Abusupian Magomedov was announced as the main event of the UFC on ESPN 47 tournament, which will take place on July 1 at the same UFC Apex arena.
