Brazil military police battalion to raffle off gun to help pay for surgery of Invicta FC fighter Faelly Vitoria

Brazilian strawweight prospect Faelly VItoria will need to undergo surgery to repair a severe ACL tear in her left leg before she can finally make her Invicta FC debut. An unusual raffle will help pay for this procedure.

The military police battalion of Macapa, Brazil, is raffling a Taurus G2c . 40 gun on May 31, and will give the fighter 50 percent of the money if she’s able to sell 1,000 tickets on her own. R$ 10, is the cost of each ticket, which amounts to less than 2 US dollars. If the winner doesn’t have a license to carry or possess a firearm, the person will pocket R$ 4,000 ($728).

“It is a great prize,” Vitoria said to MMA Fighting. “People look and be like, ‘Wow, a gun or R$4,000.’ It’s an interesting prize to raffle and get some money to pay for the surgery.”

Vitoria is a member of a Brazilian social police project that helps underprivileged children through the use of martial arts. She jokes that she would prefer to take the cash prize instead of the gun because of the costs of her life as a fighter. Also, she doesn’t hold a permit to possess or carry a firearm.

Vitoria is 4-0 as an MMA fighter and 5-0 under kickboxing rules. Urijah Faber, a legend in MMA and Fabio Prado (Team Alpha Male coach) signed a contract with Invicta FC late 2020.. InvictaFC has held only four shows in the meantime, Vitoria was unable to make her international debut because of her injury and restrictions due to COVID -19 travel.

The strawweight prospect expects to make her first appearance inside the Invicta FC cage in the second half of 2022. Prado stated to MMA Fighting, that Invicta FC cleared her for Brazil. Vitoria will face Iranilde Lima at Black Glory MMA March 12 and then she’ll go under the knife later in that month.
