Brandon Moreno vs. Alejandra Pantoji in development for July

A flyweight title fight between reigning UFC champion Brandon Moreno and division number two Alejandra Pantozha is in development and could take place on July 8 at UFC 290 in Las Vegas.

This was reported by informed sources close to the situation.

In January of this year, Brandon Moreno, in the fourth confrontation with Deiveson Figueredo, unified the interim and current UFC flyweight titles, scoring an early victory over the Brazilian, who could not reach the fourth round.

Alejandre Pantozha is on a three-fight streak, finishing with a first-round neck break on Alex Perez in his last bout.

Note that Pantozha has two victories over Moreno, the first of which he won seven years ago as part of the twenty-fourth season of The Ultimate Fighter, finishing the Mexican by rear naked choke in the second round, and two years later the Brazilian repeated his success by defeating the future UFC champion by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 129 in Chile. After his second loss to Pantozha, Moreno was forced to leave the UFC and start his rise to the top again.
