Bobby Greene challenged Dan Hooker to a challenge

Coming off an impressive win over Grant Dawson, Bobby Green wants New Zealand’s Dan Hooker, ranked ninth in the UFC lightweight rankings, as his next opponent.

“They want me to fight Hooker,” MMAJunkie quoted the American as saying. “I’m fine with that. If Hooker is in favor, I’m in favor too. I’m even willing to headline the prelims because I know how crowded the cards are. Right now I need to get my hand checked as it’s been sore since the hammerfists, but if it’s okay, I want to fight in December. I want to be the most active fighter this year.”

The lightweight bout, which headlined last weekend’s UFC Fight Night 229 event in Las Vegas, ended as early as the 33rd second with Bobby Green winning by knockout. Two months earlier, the American fighter put his career back on track by finishing his compatriot Tony Ferguson with an arm-triangle choke in the third round.

Like Green, Dan Hooker is riding a two-fight win streak, having won by technical knockout over Claudio Puelles and a split decision over Jalin Turner.
