Better than expected. Canelo Alvarez on recovery after surgery

The absolute champion of the super middleweight division (up to 76.2 kg) Mexican Canelo Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) is successfully recovering from surgery on his injured left wrist.

Moreover, according to the boxer himself, the process is going faster and better than expected, so the standard plan with fights in May and September will most likely be fulfilled in 2023.

Recall that Alvarez was injured back in November last year during the unification bout for the absolute championship with American Caleb Plant. The injury plagued him in the lost fight with Dmitry Bivol, and in September, when Canelo fought Gennady Golovkin for the third time, the pain, according to the Mexican, became completely unbearable.

“The incisions have already healed,” Alvarez reports. “I’m doing really well with therapy, so I guess it won’t hold me back too much. My fights usually take place in May and September, and I think I will be ready to return to the ring soon … At first, the doctor said that after the operation I would have to spend four weeks in a cast, without moving my arm. But we’re making better progress than expected.”

Do you know that Canelo Alvarez still wants to fight Usyk?
