Beterbiev lost to the Yard: notes of the judges at the time of the stoppage of the fight

Artur Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs) was losing to Anthony Yarde (23-3, 22 KOs) at the time of the stoppage of their last fight in the eighth round according to two of the three side judges.

As can be seen from the official scorecard, the British challenger was ahead by 68-65 and 67-66 respectively by June Bae Lim and Robin Taylor, and was also 66-67 behind by Jérôme Lada.

At the same time, the judges were completely unanimous in the second (Yard), fourth (Beterbiev) and sixth (Yard) rounds.

Recall that the fight was stopped by Anthony’s corner in the eighth round, shortly after he was knocked down.

Beterbiev was awarded the victory by technical knockout. For the first time, he defended three titles – according to the WBC, WBO and IBF versions – in light heavyweight (up to 79.4 kg).
