Beterbiev, Bivol, Canelo, Buatsi and Smith. Who? When? With whom? Hearn has the answers.

Promoter Eddie HearnMatchroom Boxing)
toldwhat fights and in what order will take place in the near future between top light heavyweight boxers.

It seems that Russian-born WBA Super champion Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs) in September will really try to take away all super-middleweight belts from Mexican Saul Canelo Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs): “Canelo wants to fight Bivol for the title of absolute in 76.2 kg. So Dmitry just has a great starting position.”

The holder of all other light heavyweight belts, Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs), boxing under the flag of Canada, has come to mandatory defenses, which can drag on for a long time. Over the weekend, he knocked out Briton Anthony Yarde (WBO), and ahead of him is a fight with another Englishman – a contender from the WBC Callum Smith (29-1, 21 KOs).

“I would like to do a fight Smith vs Beterbiev on Enfield (football stadium in Liverpool) after Ramadan, Hearn does not hide. “In the meantime, Bivol will fight Joshua Buatsi and then Canelo for the 76.2kg absolute in the spring. After that, he will immediately meet for the absolute in light heavyweight – that is, with the winner of the fight Beterbiev vs Smith.

Hearn is still not 100% sure of his version: “A lot of things can change. What if Bivol wants to immediately go to Beterbiev? Anyway, we have Smith, we have Bivol, we have Canelo. So everything will be cool!”

Meanwhile, the WBC said that Bivol did not come out with a passport. The organization does not give the green light to the fight with Beterbiev.
