The British contender for the WBO middleweight title (up to 72.6 kg) Denzel Bentley (17-1-1, 14 KOs) may well become the author of a sensation and defeat the clear Kazakh favorite-champion Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (12-0, 8 KOs) in duel, which will take place in a few hours in Las Vegas (USA).
Bentley’s promoter, Frank Warren, is convinced of this.

“We and Denzel himself know that he is going to fight against a shunned fighter, but I am more than confident that he can create an upset,” says Warren. “He is a real professional who wanted just such a chance so that he could show himself. And my confidence is based on communication with Denzel’s coach and manager, Martin Bowers. He knows what his boyfriend is capable of and has no doubt that if done right, they will succeed.”
“Martin has studied Alimkhanuly since his amateur days and knows exactly what he will have to face,” says Frank. “I suspect the key will be to work hard on the opposite course without letting the champion overwhelm himself with his punching power. Fighters like Alimkhanuly, who have a high-profile reputation for turning off their opponents’ lights, often win before the fight even starts, instilling fear and self-preservation in their opponents. In this regard, Denzel needs to show a lack of respect for the favorite.
