“I plan to definitely go to Dagestan and train with these guys to get a new perspective, to feel something different,” the American said in an interview with MMA Junkie Radio. “These guys don’t give you a break or easy rounds. For me, it’s perfect. The last time I trained with them, I won with a dominant finish, and I plan to do it again.”
“Each of these guys is a beast, they each have their own style. Before every round you get that uncomfortable feeling of butterflies in your stomach. When I train with my teammates, I know what to expect from them, who can give me a tough round. I see them every day, and I know all their strengths and weaknesses. Because of this, there is a deceptive sense of calm. But when you are faced with something new, something different, with new training partners, it makes you work that much harder. It makes you put out more and think more.”
The welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad is reportedly scheduled to be part of the UFC 300 event on April 13 in Las Vegas, however, the bout has yet to be officially announced.
