Croatian slugger Alen Babić (11-0, 10 KOs) will soon fight for the vacant WBC bridgeweight belt with Pole Lukasz Rozanski (14-0, 13 KOs). In the meantime, the big guy is talking about a potential megafight between British heavyweights Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs).
Babich sparred with both big guys, so he has something
to tell: “It would be just a crazy fight. You know, I really think that Tyson is a little nuts. Yes, he is. He is probably one of my favorite characters in the boxing world. I was in his camp for a whole month. Words cannot describe how great he was towards me. He was ready to give me the last shirt. He really is an incredible character. I think that in this Joyce is significantly inferior to him. He doesn’t have the same charisma. Not even close.”
But in the ring, Joyce has something to surprise, the Croatian believes: “As for me, he is more dangerous than Fury. It seems to me that Tyson is a little… How should I put it? *be heavily worn. And Joyce is really some kind of Juggernaut. He doesn’t seem to feel pain. In this he is like me. It just doesn’t feel pain and that’s it. I’m not sure Fury needs this fight. Not sure if this is a smart move. I admit that it will be much more difficult for him than he imagines. But I’m not going to write it off either. He’s not just the reigning world champion.”
The other day Joyce said “I’ll win!” — it’s about Usyk and Fury. Promoter Lou DiBella (DiBella Entertainment) in awe of the Juggernaut: He’s like Foreman, he’ll probably beat Usyk.
