B1 promotions terminated contracts with fighters who did not recognize Russian aggression

All athletes are leaders of public opinion, they must influence the situation

The leadership of B1 MMA decided to terminate the contracts with the fighters Maurice Boleyan and Martun Mezhlumyan, who did not publicly condemn the fact of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

All athletes are opinion leaders, they must influence the situation and do what they can – speak out publicly and explain certain things to their audience.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine, both fighters have not made a single statement condemning the actions of Russian troops and the Putin regime in our state.

We also believe that all international MMA organizations, especially the UFC and Bellator, should impose sanctions on all Russian fighters who have not yet spoken out about the war in Ukraine. These organizations provide an opportunity to earn money that goes to buy missiles that kill our children. There is a direct connection between the economy, sports and war. Every time an athlete comes out in uniform or with the flag of Russia, this is a mockery of the thousands of dead Ukrainians and from all over the civilized world.
