Atlas highlights potential Wilder-Joyce fight

Over the weekend in Manchester (England), local heavyweight Joe Joyce (15-0, 14 KOs) knocked out ex-world champion New Zealander Joseph Parker (30-3, 21 KOs), for which he was awarded an interim title from the WBO.

In the course of the fight, Joyce surprised with the strength of his beard – he easily swallowed Parker’s best blows. Fans and experts immediately began to talk about the chances of the British against the main knockout of the division – the American Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs).

Beautiful
comment from outrageous Teddy Atlas: “What will it be like if Wilder and Joyce do meet in the ring? It will be like the good old days when the US government tested bombs at the Nevada nuclear test site. Eventually there will be nothing left but a mushroom cloud and perhaps a thud. If Wilder can’t get to his jaw first… Or if he gets to it, but it doesn’t work, which isn’t out of the question, then Joyce will be right in front of him. And come what may.”

Yesterday Joyce called WBC champion Fury into the ring, but he said no, now I need Usyk. Tyson also named the second strongest heavyweight at the moment – he is not from Ukraine. Joyce recalled Usyk: “He will fight me or give up the title.”
