Artem Lobov will resume his career in Russia

Famous Russian-Irish fighter Artem Lobov, who retired two and a half years ago, will fight under MMA rules as part of “REN TV Fight Club”.

This was reported by informed sources close to the situation, citing Russian promoter Vladimir Khryunov. When the bout will take place, and who will be the opponent of “Russian Hammer” is not reported.

A finalist on the twenty-second season of TUF, Artem Lobov had seven fights in the UFC, earning two wins and suffering five losses. After being dismissed from the world’s strongest league, “The Russian Hammer” found himself in fist fights under the Bare Knuckle FC banner, defeating Jason Knight and Paul Malignaggi by decisions before losing early to Knight in a rematch.

In July 2021, Lobov suffered an early defeat in a bare-knuckle fight under the Mahatch FC banner in Kiev, refusing to go to the fifth round against renowned Ukrainian boxer Denis Berinchik, and a week later announced the end of his professional career.

Artem Lobov had his last fight under mixed martial arts rules in October 2018, losing by unanimous decision to American Michael Johnson.

For the past fourteen months, the 37-year-old Lobov has been suing his former friend and teammate Conor McGregor in an attempt to prove his involvement in the creation of the Proper No. 12 whiskey brand, and receive five percent of the Irishman’s proceeds from its sale.
