British ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) showed respect to his opponent in the upcoming rematch Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) and supported the Ukrainian people, who have been bravely fights with the Russian occupiers, who unleashed a bloody war on the territory of Ukraine.
“Glory to Usyk, the Klitschko brothers and everyone in Ukraine. I know it’s hard, but the hard times will come to an end. Keep your head up,” Joshua urged. The world sees everything and supports you. We are always with those who are going through difficult times, and especially now with the Ukrainians.”
Recall that the second fight between Usyk and Joshua is scheduled for August 20 in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Alexander commented on the widespread opinion that the war in Ukraine allegedly motivates him before revenge.
At a press conference held the day before (if you missed it, here is a tough duel of views between Usyk and Joshua), the new British coach Robert Garcia said that Joshua would beat Usyk and become the world champion again.
