Anthony Joshua: “I’m not a champion and it hurts a lot…”

Former world heavyweight champion Briton Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) admitted that he was very burdened by the lack of a title. At the same time, Anthony uses the current situation to rebuild and return to the ring with renewed vigor.

Recall that Joshua parted ways with titles in three prestigious versions in September last year, having been defeated by Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. In August 2022, they had a rematch and the Briton failed again.

“I’m not a champion, and it hurts a lot,” Anthony confesses. “I’m in the gym rebuilding and restructuring everything I want to do in and out of the ring. There’s a lot going on in my life outside of boxing, and that makes it hard for me to be in the ring. So I just need to simplify a lot of things outside of the ring, and then I can fully focus on boxing. And once I do that, next year I’ll be ready.”

Earlier, British promoter Eddie Hearn named five possible options for the return of Joshua.
