Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Orlovsky will return to the octagon on Jan. 13 at UFC Las Vegas, and “Pitbull’s” opponent will be Dominican Waldo Cortez-Acosta.
Informed sources close to the situation said of the organization of the fight.
Andrei Orlovsky, 44, suffered two straight losses, losing by rear-naked choke to Marcos Rogerio de Lima and losing by technical knockout to DonTal Mays. Prior to that, the Belarusian heavyweight was riding a four-fight win streak, winning by judges’ decisions over Chase Sherman, Carlos Felipe, Jared Vanderaa and Jake Collier.
Waldo Cortez-Acosta, 31, put his career back on track in August with a first-round knockout of Lukasz Brzeski. Four months earlier, the heavyweight suffered his first loss in the UFC, losing by decision to Marcos Rogerio de Lima.
