Andrei Orlovsky – Chase Sherman. Forecast and announcement for the fight

UFC on ESPN 22 tournament bout

On the night of Saturday to Sunday, April 18, in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) the UFC on ESPN 22 (or UFC Vegas 24) tournament will take place, which will be held without spectators at the UFC Apex mini-arena. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.

The main card of the tournament will feature former UFC heavyweight champion Andrey Orlovsky, who agreed to fight against Chase Sherman on 10-day notice.

Orlovsky, who turned 42 in February, had a good covid 2020 with decision wins over Filipe Lins and Tanner Boser, being the underdog in both bouts. However, the Belarusian started 2021 poorly, in February he was strangled in the second round by Tom Aspinall.

Sherman was preparing to fight in this tournament with Parker Porter, but he withdrew from the fight for undisclosed reasons. For Chase, this is the second coming to the UFC, in 2018 he was fired from the promotion after three losses in a row. Sherman then won three first-round knockouts in the regional organization Island Fights and had three fisticuffs in BKFC (2-1 record), after which he was re-signed by the UFC. In May 2020, he returned to the octagon and knocked out Isaac Villanueva in the second round. Thus, in MMA Sherman goes on a series of four knockout victories.

Prediction for the fight

Orlovsky is a technical boxer, his sambo skills allow him to defend well against takedowns. Sherman is a good wrestler who works well on the stand. Sherman won almost all of his victories by knockout, while he lost 4 times out of 6 by knockout.

Orlovsky also has an unreliable chin, if he cannot defend impeccably from blows, then there is a risk of his defeat by KO. But in general, “Pitbull” is more technical and much more experienced than his counterpart, we believe that this will be the main keys to Andrey’s victory in this fight. He definitely has the skills to beat Sherman and win his 20th UFC victory.
